Active Causal Structure Learning with Advice
What this work does
Uses a proposed causal DAG to guide adaptive interventions, with guarantees that depend on advice quality while retaining robustness to poor advice.
Connection to discovery
A useful design for combining LLM-generated causal hypotheses with experiments that verify or correct those hypotheses.
Evidence
Structural results relate verification sets, covered edges and search cost. The inspected guarantees assume an observational essential graph is already correctly known.
Scope and limitations
The oracle and graph assumptions are stronger than noisy finite-sample science. Advice must be compatible with the observational equivalence class; a plausible language explanation is not automatically valid advice.
