Augmenting large language models with chemistry tools
What this work does
A ReAct-style LLM invokes specialized chemistry/search/computation tools, with cloud-connected synthesis and a human-query tool.
Connection to discovery
Illustrates the difference between a capable scientific tool harness and a policy trained to choose informative experiments.
Evidence
Inspected chemical-use-case expert evaluations, reported RoboRXN synthesis execution and the tool interface descriptions.
Scope and limitations
Demonstrating synthesis of known molecules is not automatically new knowledge. Proprietary services, human interaction and expert judgment constrain reproducibility.
